FUN, JOYFUL—the adjectives that describe my couples 🥰. Kaleigh and Daniel had a gorgeous Reedy River Falls engagement session in Downtown Greenville. And if I didn’t tell you, you’d never guess this session took place in winter! These two trekked through mud in their white sneakers for that dreamy light 🤤 and we made magic happen. Their laughter, adventurous spirit, and willingness to get a little messy for a perfect shot were everything a photographer hopes for.
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is when couples choose locations that actually mean something to them, and these two did just that. Kaleigh and Daniel’s very first date was at Spill the Beans, so of course we had to pop in. Yes, even on a cold January afternoon. There’s something extra nostalgic about recreating a first date. Getting to stand exactly where your love story began, reliving that memory, and turning it into part of your gallery. Between the warm lighting, cozy atmosphere, and sweet ice cream treats, we captured some of my favorite images of the entire day.
We started their session at Reedy River Falls, where the winter landscape gave us the prettiest earthy tones. You don’t need blossoms or spring greens to make a session beautiful. January still has those burnt orange leaves, soft golden grass, and reflection on the water that photographs so dreamy. When the sunlight hit the rocks by the river, it glowed like it was meant just for them. That glow + their playful personalities = pure magic.
After exploring the falls, we made our way into Downtown Greenville to get to Spill The Beans, which is always a vibe, no matter the season. Brick textures, cozy nooks, bustling streets, and a little bit of urban charm added so much variety to their gallery. I love giving couples a mix of scenic nature and city energy within one session, and Greenville makes that incredibly easy. Everything is walkable, which means more photos and less driving between spots!
Kaleigh and Daniel were naturals in front of the camera, even though they swore they’d be “awkward.” (Spoiler alert: laughter and genuine chemistry photograph SO well even more than posing perfectly.) They joked with each other, snuggled to stay warm, and kept stealing little looks that made every shot effortless. When couples truly enjoy each other, the photos do the work for us.
If you’re thinking about booking your own Reedy River Falls engagement session, winter is seriously underrated 🤫. You get less foot traffic, soft light, cozy outfit options, and the dreamiest colors without the summer heat. Pair it with something meaningful. It could be your favorite coffee shop, a fun dessert stop, or even a bookstore. You’ll walk away with photos that feel uniquely you.
