Ellen and Lance reached out after falling in love with my colorful, joy-filled photos—and when someone reaches out specifically for your work, it makes your heart swell! As a Greenville couple photographer, moments like these remind me why I love what I do: connecting with kind people who value color, joy, and the little in-between moments.
We met bright and early at Furman University’s Bell Tower Bookstore, where they parked before we made our way toward a more tucked-away wooded spot I had scouted earlier in the week. The walk was a bit of a trek from the parking lot, so I brought along a little wagon for them to carry their change of clothing and Lance’s guitar—yes, his guitar! (They actually met through church, where Lance plays guitar during worship.)

In planning for their Greenville engagement photos, I wanted to find a spot that felt personal and meaningful to them. I’m used to photographing on the other side of the lake—by the koi pond and wooden bridge—usually in the evening, but for this session, I decided sunrise would be best on the opposite side of the water. That early golden light created the perfect glow through the trees, and the setting felt peaceful and full of life.
Their one request? A location with beautiful trees overhead. Since Lance works with trees in his business, it felt only right to find a place surrounded by them. The shade here wasn’t quite as close to the water, but the canopy was stunning—and to our delight, we even discovered a small flower field nearby that added an extra pop of color to their photos.
The best part about this engagement? Ellen and Lance won’t just receive their images as digital files—they’ll have tangible prints to hold, gift, and display for years to come. I can’t wait to hand-deliver their gallery as printed keepsakes, ready for their wedding day and beyond. 💛
